Well like so many I've decided that my trips to Bali are a thing of the past, at least for a while now. I have travelled there many times - a week after sept 11,not long after 2002 bombings, a few times since then and most recently July last year. Enough said the risk is too great - not just the terrorism/bombings but disease/food poisoning due to hardships that the people in Bali are facing from lack of tourism. I've seen the aftermath from the disasters that have occurred. Pity cause last July was the way Bali use to be, full of atmosphere and bustling trade. So Phuket here we come! I can only hope it is as good if not better than what Bali had to offer for us.
Lots of sun, relaxation, shopping and fun. So my research is about to begin. I don't want to just wing it I want as much heads up as I can get. So bring it on:
Where to stay 4-5star amongst the action.
Transport for 5 (Have adult children - 2 beautiful girls who I cant let out of my sight)
Fantastic pools with swim-up bar. Boys hate to shop.
Is there a waterpark in Phuket like they have Waterbom in Bali?
Diamond Cliff and Meridian look lovely but are they too far from the action - transport needs to be in one car can 5 fit?
Also transport from airport - 5 people with suitcases?
(We had our own driver in Bali)
Weather in December - Can you swim at the beach this time of year??
Anything else that could help please?
