I doubt if you'll feel lonely at all in any of the South's top spots - like Koh Samui or Phuket or Krabi. There's a lively nightlife/bar/disco scene at all these places and you'll soon make friends with other holiday makers. There are also friendly Thai gals around who will be only too happy to keep you company.
You can't go wrong with Samui, check out Chewang & Lamai beaches, rent a beach bungalow, hit the night spots. You'll have a ball, everybody does!
