Unhappy PAD THAI (closes Bangkok Airport)

used to mean something yummy (to eat) to me, now it means an extremist military and influential royalist backed anti-democracy "movement".

Bangkok Airport Closed

Scant effort it seems to do that much about it. Armed protesters shooting off rounds around Bangkok Airport, Not good in any respects.

Thumbs down And more

These anti-democracy rioters close another airport

Wow, the Thai police are doing such a great job!

"On Wednesday Mr Somchai rejected a call by army leader Gen Anupong Paochinda for new elections to end the political deadlock."

Says it all when the army interferes with the elected government.

"The (rioters) group - a loose alliance of royalists, businessmen and the urban middle class - claim that the government is corrupt and hostile to the monarchy."

Ah, those old chestnuts again. Did not mention the fact these people want a change in how a government is appointed in Thailand; partial democracy (hah), partially appointed!

With so many of these people being businessmen, they sure lost sight of the old sayings regarding spiting your face and shooting your foot.

Cool Democracy, where?

Bye bye PPP
Found corrupt just in time to save the PAD protesters, who win. They (the affluent middle classes) got rid of the last prime minister because he did two cookery programs on TV. Now the current prime minister and his party are removed from office for "corruption" (me wonders kettle calling something else black). Holidays soon back in full swing, another ruling party to form from the remnants of PPP, more sponsored protests, and then............

I like this bit about what the judges of the constitutional court had to say;
"Although some party executives had no knowledge of the election fraud, the law stipulates clearly ... the party must scrutinise its executives thus the party cannot deny responsibility,''
Someone stands up and says "I was bribed to vote for the PPP" and "they" can get rid of the PM and the guys most likely to replace him; very convenient.
