Smile Planning to be in Thailand this april need advice

Hi everyone,
My mom and myself are set to be in Thai this coming month that's April.
So, I wanted to get advices on cheap resorts or hotels or hostels or anything in places like Bali, Pattaya, bangkok and Phuket not to forget Chaing Mai...

I would like to spend more money on shopping and tour but not in living accomodation.. So I am looking for very cheap living place... Do u guys know of any?

Please also suggest places to go.... that's basically to do with shopping, beaches, water crafts, fishes, animal shopping and all....

Thank you

Divya from Nepal

Hi Divya,

There are a few good and reasonably price hotels near Koh San Road in Bangkok that I know of: Wild Orchid and Villa CHa Cha are both good and you can probably stay for between 800 and 1200 THB per night for a twin room.

In Chiang Mai there is a very good guesthous called SK House 2 which is great and very cheap.

I don't know of any resorts in Pattaya or Phuket (and I definitely would not take my mum to either of those places... Each to their own though.) - Pattaya is very seedy and is popular with older men for obvious reasons, and the main tourist area in Phuket (Patong Beach) is apparantly much the same. There are very nice parts of Phuket however they are likely to be more expensive than other islands because much more popular and therefore developed. You may want to check these places out but in my opinion there are far nicer places in Thailand where you would be better off spending your time. Koh Lanta is beautiful and not far from Phuket, Krabi is cool Pai (near Chiang mai) is very nice)... The beach they filmed 'The Beach' is also near Phuket on Phi Phi Don Island.

For shopping Bangkok and Chiang Mai are both good. You can get literally anything in Bangkok, try: MBK mall, Caigon Paragon, Chuttachuk market (probably not spelled correctly). In Chiang Mai there are excellent night markets where you can get a bargain.

Hope this helps,
