anybuddy wanna join me to tibet when the Molang Festival starts @ february,2011?
hi there,
any body wanna join me to take part in the next year' tibetan Molang(im not sure how to say it) festival. my friend and i once traveled in tibet and we just ended our trip at the beginning of this festival. we were deeply attracted by that fantastic scene, but unluckily we were just going to end our trip. it's really a pity that we didnt have enough time to enjoy it, so next year around the early middle february, id' like to go there to attend this festival. i plan to book an agency ,and take an suv car which can seat 4 people at most, so i wanna call some other buddy to go together so that we can split cost.so guys i may share my little information either from internet or my consultation about that festival and u may know what we are going to see.
Molang Festival is a great Tibetan Buddhist ceremony for praying for happiness and safe and sound life, which is quite an important event to Tibetans. Besides in Aba, this ceremony will be hold simultaneously by Taer Monastery in Qinghai, Laboleng Monastery in Xiahe, Longwu Monastery in Tongren. But the Molang Festival in Aba is the most luxurious of all, for there are many monasteries of different branches. It will be hold from the 11th, January of the lunar month to 15th of the same month. During the holiday, the Andou Tibetans from Sichuan, Gansu, and Qinghai will gather together to celebrate it, which will be a quite great scene.
this festival was originated from AC 1409 when the china Ming Dynasty in its flourish time and the Great Master of Gelu Titetan Buddhism, Zongkaba first proposed this religious ceremony to promote Buddhist scripture interpretation for wishful pray . since the second Dala Lama, this ceremony has become a traditional festival. Molang festival is hold on the 3rd, January of Tibetan calendar, lasting to the 17th of the same month. This activity consists of group-chanting of the scripture and an outdoor religious ceremony of large scale. From the 3rd, January of Tibetan calendar to 12th, we will see groups of Lama and monks in cassock chanting the Buddhist scripture in the vast scripture –chanting hall to express their wish of ridding the evils and disasters, guiding the health of families and their herds, and the coming of the harvest year. At that time , the scripture hall will be illuminated by the butter light, echoing with the chanting of the monks, which just impose a mysterious and majestic atmosphere. The local residents gather there to listen to the Buddhist preaching. Molan festival in Tibetan language is called “Molangqiemo”, which means “summoning religious ceremony”. It is the largest religious festival in Tibetan region in which we can see the activities like scripture-chanting, religious dancing to invite Buddha, and various praying activities with people wearing colorful Tibetan costumes. During that time we also see many typical Buddhist instruments which we have never seen.
so if u are interested ,please dimme a call, and we consult with each other more detail to have this trip
