Bali Palm OK for me

I had no trouble to book my complimentary sofitel / pullman Seoul accomodation (and it was busy period in fact, ibis Seoul did show full occupancy, but not sofitel)and it was only of 2 weeks notice... I booked through their website. The Hotel remain professional and truly made me enjoy the stay even though it was "complimentary" nights.

Smile Very Good Accor

I have been a member for three years now and have had nothing but good service and results from Accor Advantage Plus membership.I have never had any problem getting my free night, which is only part of the reason I joined, along with the discounts etc that we use on a regular pattern. I have just taken advantage of their offer of 50% off bookings for November, December & January, and booked ten nights throughout Victoria, South Australia, including my free night on Sunday 9th january on Kangaroo Island (Peek holiday time) and then back into rural Victoria and NSW on our way home. Booking in Melbourne and Adelaide in the Mecure hotels was no problem with all bookings requested, confirmed. The only property that we could not get into, was at the resort at Hume Weir Albury, which is understandable owing to its location and school holidays. My wife & I have nothing but praise for the service and quality of all the properties that we have stayed in from Qld, NSW, Vic, S.A. W.A. & the N.T. We would recommend membership to anyone who travells.

OK, time to weigh up the evidence....

Count back yourselves.....

How many FOR / How many AGAINST ??

I think you will find, there are MORE favourable comments about ACCOR's Advantage Plus program, than there are those who can't use THEIR OWN computer to book their Comp. night.

To those individuals.... time to drop off, and stick with paying full price elsewhere.

It is all down to perception and experience. Since when is 50 percent off the rack rate a good rate? You think it is and you think the rest of us pay full price.

Default very happy jan

Ihave been an Accor member for 8 years and have never had any problem with booking my free nights. I join each year and if there are any free nights left over they can they be used the next year. I have booked accommodation in Bali at the Novotel Nusa Dua, Hong Kong and Singapore. as well as all the good hotels in Sydney Melbourne and Queensland. I have always found Accor very helpful and if I have had a complaint about Parking fees I have always had a swift reply and offer of a refund next time I stay. Perhaprs people should book their holidays earlier, naturally they only have so many rooms available as do airlines on cheap fares.

Default use your brain

Fairdinkum this membership is aimed at saving you money on accomodation and dining for a hole 12 months. The free night is clearly not why someone would purchase the membership. If you guys listen to the sales consultant, they clearly tell you that the free night is subject to an allocation and to book well in advance. Thats why theres over 400000 happy Accor members.

Thumbs down **** Advantage Plus Membership

My husband had been a member for 3 years of Accor's Advantage Plus. No real dramas but the complimentary night 'deal' was sold to us as a 'rollover' kind of option from the beginning. We had, on occasion, noticed that there was NEVER a renewal notice/email that came out to remind you that the membership was to expire. Apparently the onus is on the Member to remember themselves, because if you are even 10 days late in remembering to renew your membership you will lose all accrued Complimentary Nights that you've more or less PAID FOR in your membership of $289!!! That is what happened to us! We had 3 separate booking with Sofitel, 2 x Brisbane, 1 x Sydney, and only remembered to bring out the card when packing. I immediately phoned to 'renew' my husband's card which had expired 8 days earlier. (No 'Expirey Notices' are ever sent/emailed out BTW, it's 'up to the members' to remember to renew! How farcical is that? Just too complex to send one out? More on that later .) I got to chatting to one of the customer service staff about the fact that I check in first often, even though my husband's name is on the card. 'What would you recommend I****** (name)? Should I renew my husband's membership or can you change it to my name?' I asked. Ultimately, after toing-and-froing in his mind about the 'difficulty' in swapping names over on the membership (I mean, go figure - it's an international membership database..not that difficult, I've run these databases myself!). Anyhow, it was SO difficult to manage that he suggested I leave Tom's membership as 'expired' and take out my own one instead - then I could check in on my own, no worries. I agreed in principal to this but wanted it confirmed that this arrangement, 'would not interfere with any of the current bookings I had already made with Sofitel x 3'. He INSISTED that it would not, and did not ask any further about the current bookings. As I had my 'Complimentary Certificate' already printed out, I presumed all would be OK at check in!. WRONG. I got to Sofitel, they couldn't use the Certificate and had to use my current Complimentary Night that I'd just 'paid for' 2 days earlier on my membership. Advantage Plus advised on the phone right then and there on the reception desk that 'as I changed the membership from my husband name to mine I lost his Comp Night altogether! I 'should have know the consequences of amending the membership' and 'it was my problem not theirs!'. His Complimentary Night was lost the minute I did not renew HIS membership. This went against what their own Customer Service
Staff advised me..Why would I knowingly adjust memberships around if I were made aware that INDEED the current memberships were going to be affected! That INDEED I was going to lose $300 worth of value. Afterall, I highlighted that it was THEIR OWN STAFF'S ADVICE TO ME that caused me to lose this night, but they didn't care less. They were rude and offhanded - couldn't give a hoot. 'YOU should've read the Membership Conditions - we don't tape our conversations!' I was in tears - this was $300 worth of value they 'snaked' away from me, almost on purpose (?) or certainly through INCOMPETANCE!! Had I been informed of the facts by their staff, I would NEVER have proceeded with the 'new' membership. Their Conditions are ambiguous and they prey on your naivete to snavel your value items away. All of this happened over a period of 7 days, with me trying to reason with them about our situation! They could've shown goodwill and accepted a breakdown in communication but did not!! I asked to re-instate my husband's membership as the member and cancel me on Day 2! but NO, this was all too hard - 'Simply cannot be done!!!' they declared. Anything can be done but they chose not to!! Accor Hotels are compentant enough to send me sh**loads of emails promoting their hotels, up to 4 per week! but are incompetent in allocating a marketing company for Accor Advantage Plus who are incapable of sending our RENEWAL NOTICES!, which would've alleviated this very stressful situation in the first place! As far as I'm concerned, I did not get what I paid for..and am considering refuting the charge on my credit card. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED FOR A BUSINESS BUILT AROUND THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY!! Just laughable!! I am exasperated at their insulting and non-caring manner. If I conducted 'Customer Service' like they did, we'd have been out of business within a month!!! I now tell all my family and friends about this who've all agreed to NOT continue with the Accor Advantage Plus service after their year expires and will keep on posting this note on every travel website until the world reads it! Very unhappy conned member am I!

You're upset and angry for YOUR OWN mistake, in forgeting to renew your Memberships BEFORE you checked in.
You talk about their bad custumer service, and that they didn't tape the call.... I wonder how good was your communication? Did you start abusing them? What do you expect to happen?
In summary, I sympathise with anyone who has lost money, be it by scam or even their own fault, and in this case, it is your own fault.
My son just rang me, to say he left his wallett on a Sydney train. Do I ring Sydney's CityRail Manager, and demand my son's wallett and all his cards be returned? Of course they can't return something that is lost. It's my son's own fault, and he will have to deal with it........ and so will you.

To Admin. Can you email me the part YOU claim was insulting?
Was the post changed? It doesn't look like it. It still has the punch line, so I can't see what part you thought was " insulting".

Angry

i would like to add an observation and that is that there were loads of complaints on the first page and i wholeheartedly agreed with everything said and then all of a sudden there was these counter msgs, all saying the same thing.....what i'd like to know is,do these adantage plus staff members which they so clearly are....do they get to keep their jobs by saying nice things on these kinda online forums about their employer????
People please beware this rip off scheme,i have nothing to gain other than feeling like i've done a nice thing by saving somebody else their hard earned money!!!
the rates on sites like wotif are far better than the 'exclusive' members rates offered.....the 'complimentary' night that is supposed to pay for your rego can apparently only be used during a leap year and only on a night where there is a full moon.....and usually in a place you wouldn't send your worst enemy!
you definately absolutely will not get what you paid for.
run away!!!!..
