Clubs in Tokyo

Can anyone recommend good clubs/pubs to go out in Tokyo where the drinks are slightly affordable (less than £5 a pint, say, so not TOO salarymen expensive) and yet are accessible to foreigners? Perhaps Shibuya/Roppongi areas would be a good start. I will be travelling solo, so ideally a place where it is easy to mingle and approach others would be good...

I seem to remember some expat pub, the Something and Something (Pig and Fiddle? Kebab and Calculator? :-D) where the people were easy to chat to, but can't recall the name...

I stayed in Yokohama - and found that I spent a lot going to all the "cool" clubs in Tokyo all night, sometimes spending over 1 hour going from place to place. Communication issues, plus I was going on 'rumor' I researched on the internet. I guess, a book would have helped instead... just be cautious of the meter in the cab - it clicks up fast and the trains stop running at about 12

Thanks. I looked through my old travel stuff and found a place I'd been before that was "acceptable" 911 Lounge in Roppongi. Slightly classier than the other joints in Hellhole Roppongi, and more a lounge than a club (though there is a dancefloor that fills).

Also was recommended a place called Muse - will check that out too.

The best pub for me in Tokyo is footnik in ebisu...This place was really nice...It has good ambiance....

Yeah off course you will find a lot of clubs and pubs in Tokyo as party never stop in there. The list of Tokyo Pubs and Clubs include The rising Sun, Club voice, Ageha, Air Tokyo, Alife, Club Edge Roppongi, Club Halem, Club Xross, Genius Tokyo, Warehouse702 and Womb etc. These clubs are some of the most vibrant and colorful clubs of Tokyo so be there and enjoy the colors of Tokyo nights.

Are the clubs in Tokyo very sceney, or are they more laid back everybody mingling together? I prefer more welcoming, non-clique-ish atmospheres and I'm just wondering...

Try New Lex - if you are a young single man you will too... Here is where the people who are people take off their hats and put on their party clothes... This club has a free entrance for female models so this is where they come... Don't listen to the 4000 Yen BS cause really it's only 3000 for Men (foreign) just tell them... I am an American and after my two years here this is still my fav spot in Tokyo... Get ready to party!
