Thumbs down Foreign Owned Bali Villas

Foreign owned villas in Bali never cease to "amaze" me. Apart from the fact the vast majority are operating unlawfully without an operational permit, the owners too often play the pious Balinese friendly employer while all along treating the staff like "mud". I just saw a email from one particular fancy name villa in Seminyak to a potential guest who asked if the villa has a chef service, the reply from the foreign owner of that villa was "I used to have one, but it didnt work out since there are literally scores of restaurants (famous ones at that) only steps from our villa, so maintaining an idle chef finally drove me to sac him". So somehow the chef was idle, instead of not having enough work to justify his paultry wage.
