why can't people try and smile and be nice, it doesn't cost anything to have manners.
True. But is what you say you do in the rest of your post smiling and being nice and having manners? You sound extremely intolerant of people you don't approve of to me.

OK, my turn to be intolerant. I can't stand people who CHOOSE to go to a place that is full of sex tourists and sunbed hoggers and then moan about seeing sex tourists and sunbed hoggers! Thailand is full of places where this isn't a problem, why don't you go there instead?

Also, while I'm at it.... Your comments about old Eric Pollards (whoever he is) and young Thai girls. You are basing your bigoted judgment on physical appearance. At least 4 regulars on this forum have Asian wives or girlfriends. I only know LA personally, he ain't no oil painting maybe but he smiles a lot, got twinkly eyes, he's smart and fun to be with, very kind and he knows a hell of a lot more about Thailand than you do. His current Thai partner (they've been together a while and I've met her several times) is stunningly pretty, a very nice person and smart also. Another regular who is also very kind, knows a lot about Thailand and happens to be in a wheelchair (quite hansum tho if I remember right) has a Thai wife. Jaimie, the Samui expert has a Philippino wife. The owner of this forum (no idea what he looks like) has a very pretty Balinese wife. If they were on the same beach as you with their partners you'd probably sit there looking down your nose disapprovingly at them as 'disgusting sex tourists'.

Think about it.

Ok Folks--there is one solution to this and it is quite simple!
We encounter the problem frequently in all-inclusive hotels in Mexico and many Carib islands
Hang on to your hats--are you ready--it's a real stunner:

move their towels elsewhere and play stupid:
"were you sitting here?--no one was here when we arrived!"
It's the truth, plain and simple.
If you get some lip about "we were at breakfast or wherever"
--sorry, we didn't see any "belongings".

Travelmaniac02 what do you have to do to get "banned" under under your name? So much cooler than "addict".

There are plenty of ways to get "banned" but travelmaniac02 isn't able to tell you how exactly he did it himself

I agree, this is my usual method. I was proud when my 21 year old son went on holiday with his girlfriend, and told her- if my mum were here, she would just move the towels and sit where she liked! (However, he then admitted he lacked the courage to do the same, how sad).
