Unhappy Do not use Tourism of Thailand Authority (TAT travel company)

Hi,

I'm a young girl travelling on my own and was taken to and recommended to use the Tourism of Thailand Authority TAT for short to book my travel around thailand. I was told that they would make my trip enjoyable and smooth. Taking this advice and also there being reassured about the trip I agreed and paid. My trip has turned out to be a disaster with the hotels being awful and the transfers and picks up not always turning up as was included in the package. Sometimes you can just write this stuff off as mishaps but when you have been overcharged in the vicinity of GBP500 and AUD 1,000 it's a little hard to take. I have been on email and phone to TAT for the last 6 days trying to cancel my trip and have the remainder refunded. All I seem to get is basically just put up with it as it will get better to find the next place I go to again to not meet the standards that one I was promised and to I was overcharged for.
I'm putting this notice here to advise others to stay well clear of TAT they are con artists who basically set out to take your money and not come through with the goods.
As I have already lost out considerably which during these hard times with the world in recession is quite upsetting and I don't want this to happen to anyone else.
Book your travel on your own or through travel companies in your own country. Thailand is a beautiful place and it's a shame that this company paints Thailand in a bad light.

Thank you
K (disheartened traveller)
