If you get the confirmation email, then the booking should be secured. I used the site last month for HK, no payment at booking, when I arrive and did my check in, only then the hotel took the payment via the same card I have used to reserve the room.

Default Asiarooms User for 5 years.

I have used AsiaRooms for 5 or 6 years and noticed a huge change in the systems they use, it sometimes works very badly but the prices seem to be much cheaper. I have been caught out once on the Advance Purchase rate cancellation policy but was my own fault for just clicking I have read the policy and just assuming I have 24 hours to cancel. When ever I call to make bookings I get a call center in England(Manchester I think)Due to the young sounding Manck lad that answers) I have never been let down by the service when I call but I don't think all the problems can be blamed on asiarooms as its a contract between guest and hotel(according to the website)

Smile hotel policy for bookings - just for information

i work in tour operator company for international tourists that deals with many hotels in asia. Hotels has certain deadline or cut off date of payment for rooms. Normally they have a cancellation procedure whereby money will be fully forfeited if booking cancelled at this date or that date ( mostly when the stay is very close or on the day itself as they are unable to sell the room anymore ). If you pay in advance and cancel in advance before the deadline to forfeit your money, you will get back all your money, normally.normal case of cancellation of booking is that hotels will only charge 1 night stay and they rest will be refunded. If the agent or company you booked your hotel stay provide a good volume of tourists to them, they may not even charge for cancellation base on goodwill. Hope this will give some insight.

Default Uneven service

Hi,
i have used Asiarooms and found their service and system spotty for som countries.
Through the years, I have now switched to my local favs.

Asiarooms is indeed very good for my Thai hotels. They do very terribly in Malaysia, including telling me once that they had cancelled my paid confirmed room in KL at 10pm at night.

So, I think a lot depends on where the company is based.

I always thought that Asiarooms was a publicly listed company in London. Surprised at some of the earlier posts.

I have found that booking with the hotel works best. You get current rates, No markup and they know you are coming. You get what you pay for.

Thumbs up Business & Holiday Travel

I've used Asia Rooms approx 10 times over a few years.
To be honest i always found the rates highly competitive, much better than the resorts themselves and the accommodation booking info easy to navigate

Plus i've never been ripped off or had a problem with my bookings!!!
Only recently did i encounter one property that the quality, value for money was overstated - but that was primarily the hotel problem

Not sure if they work for "middlemen" agents etc - but still my preferred booking site for direct bookings

Smile Asian traveller

I have used Asian rooms for Thai & Vietnam hotels for many years & have never experienced a problem. I did note the change in booking protocol about 3 years ago but still had no problem with my bookings. They used to be much cheaper than any other site but I guess others have closed the gap in recent years. In my experience they get five stars.
