China Eastern or Aerosvit - your opinions??

I need to book a flight over the holiday in December and the two cheapest options for the times we are looking to fly are China Eastern and Aerosvit. I have never been on either airline and of course both and some very negative reviews that I found. Please give me any input if you have traveled on either of these.
Flying for JFK to BKK (NYC to Bangkok)

I've done China Eastern Air- make sure you pack your own parashute. Our seat literally fell apart before we took off and the emergency lights came on half way thru the flight- the guy behind me said , "don't worry, I'm a pilot, its only an electrical fault.......... Don't know about the other airline.

I am a Chinese . I think China Eastern is better .
