Hi

Your Dongle should work as long as it is "unlocked". Dongles, like phones, are usually "locked" to a single network in the UK - meaning you can only use sim cards from the network you bought it from. In order to use other networks, such as those in Hong Kong, you need to get your Dongle unlocked.

You can confirm if your dongle is locked or unlocked by putting in a sim card from another phone network - e.g. Orange or Vodafone. If the Dongle accepts the new sim and you can connect with it, then your dongle is already unlocked and it should work OK in Hong Kong. Typically though, the dongle will not recognise the new sim and you won't be able to connect, which means it is still locked. You need to get it unlocked in this case, either by asking 3 (who will want you to pay a fee) or sometimes for free by searching on the internet for instructions on how to do it.

The first step is to identify the make and model of your dongle. It's probably a "Huawei" - but you need to know the model number also.

Good luck...
