Default Transportation at night hk

Hi

just wondering if anyone could help I'm going to hong kong for two weeks and I'm staying in Kowloon but will be dining out on hong kong island almost every night. I notice that ferries stop around 10:30 and the mtr system also? What are my options on getting back across the island back to Kowloon late at night? Like after 11?

Thanks for any help!

Mtr is your best bet. Fast and cheap. The buses have day and night routes.

MTR runs until 1230ish, it's different for some routes. Better to check online. I haven't been up late enough to catch one! If you're worried about safety, no need...But if you are feeling uncomfortable then jump in a taxi. Take the old tunnel, there will be no traffic and it's a lot cheaper than the western tunnel.
One other thing to add, sometimes the taxi driver may not understand you, or will at least give that impression. Ask a reliable person to write down where you are going in Chinese.

When I was in Hong Kong we used the metro system and found it very easy. Like everybody has already stated the train system finishes around midnight so the only transportation back to the kowloon area is via taxi. I found them to be very reliable and not too expensive. Both of our experiences were good and our taxi drivers although they did not speak english they knew where our hotel was once they saw the hotel card.

MTR, MTR, MTR. easy, cheap, reliable. There's also some mini buses that you can catch....but i would say MTR is your best bet.

It is better to check the MTR timings online so as to avoid any inconvenience.
