Question Your accommodation recommendations - budget

A couple of our members have already given a few accommodation recommendations here which were well received - I just wanted to welcome any other members to add their own HK recommendations here for budget places. Chungking and Mirador Mansions are obvious choices - can anyone recommend places inside these buildings that don't have cockroaches or rats?

I can recommend the Harbour Plaza Resort City. The location like in any major city will leave a bit to be desired but around 50 USD a night for a clean hotel with all amenities is definitely worth it.

Looks like it's about 30 minutes from Kowloon.

Not only "budget places" can be cheap, you should always be aware of special offers depending on the season or special occasions. From my experience usually you find a good hotel for a reasonable price then. But of course if you leave the center the value for money gets better. In example the Y Loft in Chai Wan (NOT Wan Chai) is quiet nice and clean....
