Question

First things first, Mack - what's your nationality? The visa costs/conditions are dependent on where you're from in the world...

Hi Mack,

These are the requirements for entering China as a Pakistan national: http://www.timaticweb.com/cgi-bin/ti...buser=DELTAB2C

It states you need a visa issued in your own country. Your best bet would be to search on Google for the website of the Chinese embassy (in Islamabad, presumably) and read the visa requirements in detail and follow the application process it describes.

Disclaimer: I do not work with, for or on behalf of VisaHQ :)

I've heard great things about the service and speed of Visa issuance from VisaHQ, although I find them a bit pricey for those that can plan in advance and I also believe it's a US national only service :(

Might be worthwhile to look into them and maybe any similar companies for other nationalities.

Default Where to go in China

I would suggest Xi'an, Beijing, Guilin/Yangshuo, and Hainan. Those were my favorite places in China, and they range from rural to metropolitan.
