OK, as you will see I have made the main diet thread into its own mini forum accessible from the main page. Thanks to Alison for the idea! As a result it should be easier to follow all food diaries in one thread, tips in another, weight updates in a third thread etc. Feel free to start new threads or to suggest new ideas for them - if we can keep things organised in their particular themed threads it will be a lot easier to follow everyone's progress

Since Xmas I have become a bit of a chef and started eating a little better - I have a favourite belt which in the last few months I have managed to get down 4 notches - but I am not really trying and gyms and exercise are not my thing nor am I capable due to arthritis and other ailments so how do I get those pounds / kilos off any answers welcomed ( preferably an easy way )

I suppose every one has their own theory on how to lose weight but this is what works for me.
First, the weight loss, 45 kg in 18 months has been easy, quite simply I gave up drinking. The 5 or 6 large bottles of beer, the couple of glasses of wine with dinner, the night cap Scotches before bed all came to a halt.
Giving up drinking was easy because I got sick, nothing serious, gout, mysterious internal pains and I got tired of all the problems associated with being overweight. Try getting in and out of a car when you're 140kg.

Feeling virtuous I went on a diet as well; now, I love food but I found something called a food pyramid in a website, it showed you could eat a little bit of fats and carbs and lots of fruit and veg, so that's what I do. I had bacon and eggs for brekky just now, poached eggs and grilled bacon, so I'll have fruit for lunch and finish off the pea and ham soup I made last night with some whole meal toast for dinner.
It's all about calories.
Well that's what works for me.

This is a great idea, I've moved to Germany and the food is much heavier than I'm used to eating, but I'm eating less processed food so think it's all balancing otu, except that the scale is not moving which is also not good.

Germany is awful! Sausages, and food with very much fat in it, it's disgusting!

I never had the problems with my weight untill last year when I put about 5-7 killos just from the air and after one day in the mall I tried a jeans I actually realize how different my bodu become. So I start again with the 5 days per week cardio and I should admit that it is really working. I happy how fast I start to put off extra killos. Of course it won't work with sacrifasing some kings of food like sausages, mc donalds, kfc and coke
