Happy New Year from travelforum.org! To get 2010 off to a flying start, I'm excited to announce that we're running a competition in which TWO lucky winners will be walking away with a prize of their local currency equivalent of 6000 Thai Baht, which at the time of writing is £110 for you Brits, $180 for the Americans and AU$200 for the Aussies! Not a bad amount to top up your holiday fund, eh?

So how can you be in with a chance of winning the money?

It's simple! All you need to do is post a minimum of TEN "useful" posts on travelforum.org as a logged-in member any time between now and March 31st inclusive, when the contest ends. If you meet or exceed that threshold, your username will automatically go into a draw for the prize of £110/$180/AU$200/6000 Baht. A username will be drawn at random from the qualifying entries and then notified of their win by email.

Additionally, a SECOND top prize of £110/$180/AU$200/6000 Baht will be awarded by me to the Travel Forum member I feel has given the greatest amount/best quality of useful and helpful advice. So there is a real incentive for you to post often, and make your posts useful and informative for the community!

So what's a "useful" post, then? Quite simply, it's something that imparts useful knowledge, information or advice in order to benefit others in the Travel Forum community. It might be an informative reply to someone asking a question, your opinion about an issue/topic concerning one of the countries in South East Asia, a trip report of your last holiday to Asia, or a review of a hotel or restaurant you can recommend, just to give a few examples. To count as "useful", a post also needs to be unique content, and your own work. Posts such as "LOL I agree" WON'T be counted as useful posts!
