Feeling a bit down at the moment. One of my closest friends passed away at the weekend. She had cancer and had beaten it twice but it came back the brain and she just didn't want to fight it. What was difficult was that once she knew about this last bout some three months ago she literally locked the door and drew the curtains and didn't want to see or talk to anyone except partner and kids (grown up now). Whilst respecting that it was hard that we couldn't even say goodbye but everyone deals with these things in their own way.
She wouldn't even see her only grandchild in the last three weeks as I think it was too hard for her to deal with what she would be missing out on. Funeral on Monday and that will be hard.
Also found out today that one of my cousins that I am close to has cancer and this is particularly hard as her grandson (my second cousin?) was diagnosed with leukemia last April and is still going through chemo.
Sorry Jax, bet you wished you never asked the question! Also sorry as I don't mean to depress everyone but it does help to talk about it.
