Cool Hi Larry

Yes, it makes me log in after a while as well. The trouble for me is the admin area is HUGE and complicated, so I will go back through it again soon and see what can be done for regular posters. The problem is I think security if people are using Internet cafes and then someone else comes and uses / abuses their registration.

I remember a few years ago when a guy got accused of making abusive posts on the the other forum. Turned out he was using a public computer and someone had been using his "history" to make posts under his name on the same computer. That was before there were registered users though I think...no password at all was necessary at the time. Could happen again if you forget to log out from a public computer I guess. Strange that your own computer doesn't ask if you want to remember the password though.... you don't seem to do that with this particular forum for some reason. Wonder why? I have this option with email accounts and other forum passwords.

PS I made yet another mistake in my above post which makes it a bit hard to follow but if I edit it I'm expected to give a reason for doing so. In my case it's usually one of the following:

1. I tend to hit the send button without rereading properly and notice typos only once a message is posted.
2. Sometimes I want to add something I just thought of.
3. Sometimes I want to delete something
4. The quote thing is a bit arduous so sometimes I have problems there too and chop off the wrong bits
5. Sometimes I imbibe slightly too much wine or chang and this affects judgment and vision.
4. Sometimes I'm just fiddling around seeing what the buttons do.
5. Sometimes my keyboard gets stroppy all on its own ...probably due to sand, green fungus, biscuit crumbs and the wee red ants nest in there.

Why does this forum format require mea culpas and impose a time limit on edits? On other forums you can edit as much as you want and it only shows you've edited if someone has posted after you.

Default More logging out issues

Don't know what is going on here but I am getting logged out even if I am still in the web site.

Is it because I am idle for a while?

Maybe I refreshed the web page and this caused it?

It is getting a little annoying.

Larry

Default If it is time out issue

15 minutes is toooo short.

It takes me more than 15 minutes to go outside, pour a glass of wine, have a ciggie, pour another glass of wine and then come inside to check the puter.

Cool Larry / Fio

I think this is browser related but I have not worked it out yet. I use both IE6 (Internet Explorer) and Firefox and just as well as I can not get into my (the site's main) admin section with IE6. Also, when I use IE6, I have to log in again quite regularly, but with Firefox I do not. I have not worked out why yet, it is on my list of things to do.
