Default Dysentry in Goa

I know that most of us forumites never think of going anywhere else but a colleague of mine went to Goa in November and contracted dysentry whilst over there. She has had the most horrendous time since and she is only now getting back to full strength.

They were in a reputable hotel and she has no idea where she got the bug from.

All the more reason to go back to LOS.

Goa is southern india.
We have booked to go 3 times and each time something has happened to stop us from going. Maybe trying to tell us something
We went to Egypt and had the severe s@@ts that lasted for ahges after and we needed anti biotics on our return home.
Lot of people i know swear by Goa. Has gone quite commercialised by all accounts.

She stayed in a 4/5 star hotel that came well recommended and is not the adventurous type to try eating things you regret later.

If I were you Jax I would work on the principal it wasn't meant to be, especially now you are a shadow of your former self as tou would n't want to lose weight the way she has been!

that's why I always check for any disease-risk before I visit a certain country. this is one of the precautions I do besides from getting a travel insurance. I check first if I would need to get a vaccine for a certain disease or what I should avoid while I'm at the country.
