Default Dentist phobia

I've had toothache for the last week or so and have an appointment on Tuesday for what might have to be a root canal filling. I do have regular appointments and treatments but have not had an injection for any treatment, including a crown, for the last 40 years!!

I will have to have one this time and am absoultely petrified despite being told to get a life as things have changed a bit in 40 years. I remember having a tooth out when I was in my 20's and having gas so my Dad came with me as someone had to be with you to take you home. He was mightlily embarrassed because everyone else was waiting for kids of a very young age.

Any tips for relaxing in the chair? No horror stories please!!!!!!!!!

Make sure that your dentist and the other staff know how anxious you are. I would ring them before and tell them that you can't hang aound for ages.
I would also ask before if he or she can suggest something they may prescribe a small amount of something like tamazpan.
i am with you I have had so much treatment due to one of the conditions that i have although I have to say that it was the dentist that diagnosed it.
Good luck with it.

Thumbs up I had a great dentist in Phuket

At the Phuket International Hospital. This guy only needed to give anesthetics for root work, he was that good.

Default What was I worried about!

I discovered that I also had a fractured tooth to sort out as well as the root canel filling so was in the chair for over an hour with my mouth open and no sound coming from it and yes, as Terry says that must be a record for me!

Apart from the two injections at the start which weren't nearly as bad as I anticipated once you have gone numb it you just get a bit bored so I really don't know why I was getting myself in a state.

The only real pain was the bill at the end of it all!

Anyway, back to normal although I won't risk any toffees for a while.
