| | The New International Airport
Arrived on 16 December 2013 in the middle of a huge downpour. First time in many years that we did not have the benefit of an aerobridge. Budget airline trying to save some cash? Jet*.
Had to get from the plane to a bus, got soaked, and a short drive to the terminal - the new international airport is actually the old domestic airport but revamped. It is huge, clean and a very short walk from where the bus dropped us to the "queues".
We had sixty day visa's so skipped past the VOA queue and this is where it went down hill. Last year at the old airport if you had a sixty day visa you joined the immigration queue where the lokals went - not so this year. The queue was not too long but an immigrasi person was lurking around offering "fast track" RP100,000 per person - no thanks. Took about fifteen minutes to get through.
Maybe because there was a storm it took about thirty minutes for our bags to come down the conveyer belts and they were soaked.
We then headed off to customs and joined the long queue with nothing to declare - mistake. Should have joined the something to declare queue as after you passed through the baggage xray both queues joined together.
Met our driver Made in the arrivals hall then a medium amount of traffic at the airport then off to Kumpul Kumpul Villa in Seminyak.
More to follow shortly.
