Default Boat to Nusa Lembongan

Hi there -
We're embarking on our first trip to Bali (leaving this Friday for two weeks) and I wanted to say what a huge help this forum has been in planning for our trip (we've used your suggestions for several of our hotels and will check out the restaurants you've all recommended) - thank you very much!
We're arriving on Sunday, staying the night in Sanur and plan to take the public boat out to Nusa Lembongan on Monday morning. My guidebook tells me there's a boat that leaves at 10am from Sanur, it should be about Rp43,000/person and the ticket office is at the beach end of Jalan Hang Tuah near the Ananda Hotel - can anyone confirm this? Do we need to buy the tickets in advance (can we)? And is this the best way to get out there? We're staying in Mushroom Bay and it looks like the tourist boats are ridiculously expensive (I was quoted $70/person from Perama). Also, we've booked a dive with World Diving - any feedback on them or other dive operators? Any recommendations on restaurants or things we shouldn't miss on Nusa Lembongan?
Lastly, we're planning some time in Ubud and a few days at Dreamland but we have a hole in our trip with 3 or 4 days that are flexible - recommendations?
Thanks again!
Beth

Default Hi Beth

Sorry I can't help you with boat to Nusa Lambongan however for your 3-4 days perhaps you could go to a few of the historical and significant places in Bali.

I would suggest a trip to Kintomani (crater lake and volcano), The Mother Temple at Besakih, Goa Gaja (Elephant Cave), Gunung Kawi (an ancient site), Tanah Lot Temple, The Elephant Park (north of Ubud), The Bird and Reptile Parks.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Catherine

While in Ubud think about doing a bike ride. There are a few different companies. It is a great way to see the countryside. White water rafting is also a great experience. Enjoy your holiday.
