| | Honeymoon in Bali (November 15th)
Hi everyone,
I am a long time lurker - first time poster. I hope this is the correct forum to post my question.
I am getting married in November and I am taking my lovely wife (to be) to Bali. We are landing in Denpasar, and will be spending a total of six days in the country.
I am overwhelmed with the options available. My plan is to spend four days somewhere close to the ocean, with another 2 days in Ubutu. My budget is somewhere in the range of $500 per night. So far I have been looking at the Intercontinental and potentially a smaller boutique hotel in Ubutu.
If anyone has made a similar trip, could you make recommendations for a beautiful place to stay with easy access to local areas (we would love to mingle with the "locals" so to speak), access to good restaurants and potentially nightlife ... and most importantly, easy access to the ocean. Does our split of 4days / 2days in Ubutu make sense?
Any help/ideas are appreciated.

well, 6 nts isn't much but you have a generous budget.
If you really want beach, I'd avoid all the vacationer beaches like Kuta and Legian. Maybe a nt or 2 Sanur or Seminyak but latter is the condo type experience and not what you'd call beachfront.
Hotel Tugu in Canggu but I'd go for character and culture and luxury with Ubud.
Check out luxurylink.com Thye ahve some amazinf deals--Hanging Gardens and Viceroy and they are a reputable company. you can choose flexible nts or buy now guaranteed dates.
We are returning to Royal Pita Maha and it is drop dead gorgeous--and private villas are outstanding--as is the service and proximity to get around to more sights beyond the beaches. We are starting with 4 nts Hotel Tugu and then going to Ubud. All of these properties are under $500 for premium villas w/perks. Tugu has local flavor near Canggu and even tho RPMaha is a bit more remote than some resorts, you cna easily get a driver to go towns nearby or use their free shuttle to access Ubud.
Ck out the Tugu 4 nt pkg at luxlink and add what you want at Ubud if ocean is important to you.

try to avoid kuta / legian as the traffic is really bad and it is quite packed.... as a matter of fact, traffic is crazy all over south bali. in ubud I recommend you either ubud hanging gardens, komaneka at bisma, both are perfect for your honeymoon. Jimbaran is a nice and rather quiet beach...

You know, if you want to have a great time there, doesn't mean you have to stay in an expensive hotel. Just stay at a boutique hotel, as long as it's cozy, or at least, has good reviews from people who've stayed there before.

Congrats on your nuptials. If I had that sort of money I'd be looking at the Como Shambala in Ubud.
Actually, like the earlier respondent, we have purchased a luxury link stay at the Royal Pita Maha. I would suggest looking at Luxury Link anyway to see what is available around Bali - there might be an Aman property available.
Enjoy!

| | Jimbaran is nice place to stay
Hi there :).. congrats on your plan :).
I would suggest with the budget that you have there,
you can stay at Ayana Resort (by Ritz Carlton) in jimbaran
try to have the spa treatment , you will not regret it! :)
In Ubud, i think you will be enjoying Kupu Kupu Resort.
It's a very romantic resort.
My suggestion is rent a car with a driver, so that he will
be able to take you around to the best restaurants. Bali
is just so nice for hunnymoon.
For Dinner, make a reservation at Ultimo Restaurant in
Seminyak.. definitely worth a try, and also Mannekepis,
Belgian restaurant in Seminyak.
Have fun.. and all the best for your wedding.
