Default Question for Mark re Tegal Sari

Hey there Mark - I have risen from the ashes!!! I haven't been to Bali in a while and am heading back with two girlfriends and am thinking... that finally... I must book Tegal Sari. There are three of us - good friends - all travelling without our partners. Is there a particular room/rooms we should book? We'd like a bit of space but basically just want to use the base to walk around Ubud and catch up. So am hoping to tap your brain for the best rooms!!!!

Hope you and your family are well?? Where are you these days? Still in Portugal/Spain??

Nice to be back and reading everyone's posts.

Carolyn

Default Hey there

Is that you.....The Carolyn?

We have a new Forum Administrator - Steve.

Hope Mark is lurking about and will be able to advise you on Tegal Sari. I drove past it a few times and location, at Pengosokan, looks great.

Would love to hear from you when you have time and find out details of your planned journey.

Catherine

Default It's me!!

Though I'm not sure it's "The Carolyn" just some crusty middle aged wreck. I am clawing my way back though and seeing your posts gets me motivated. Are you around on the week end?? Let me know and I can finally update you. Let me know if you're at home or at the beach. Can't wait... And want to pick your brains - do you remember Sunset Hill Villas??? Am thinking...

Default Wonderful to hear from you

We'll be around on the weekend staying in the city.

I don't remember Sunset Villas but will google them and see if it prompts any brain activity.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Default Sunset Hill Villas

Looks quite beautiful. I found one location map and it appears to be in the same general location as Tegal Sari. Some of the reviews, dating back to 2007, indicated that it was a 25 minute walk to central Ubud. The development in the area over the last few years perhaps now places it close to new restaurants and shops so going into Ubud central to dine out is probably not necessary on a daily basis.

Does look extremely inviting.

Default Tegal Sari Booked

I never have any luck getting into this place. It must be amazing. Catherine - we've made enquiries to Sunset Hill - turns out it's up behind Ibah - across the valley from Indus... Think we might give it a whirl unless someone else has a great suggestion? I am seeing great reviews about Bali Moon opposite Casa Luna (people are saying this looks old - is that right?). I can't find a website or info on Bali Moon except for those horrible drinks!!!

It was LOVELY speaking with you again Catherine... Looking forward to you heading up my way one day.

Steve, sorry if I seemed rude asking Mark - I didn't realise you were the new person!!!!!!

Any suggestions from anyone welcome!!!

Carolyn

Thumbs up

Hi Carolyn,

A warm welcome back to the forums - and don't worry, I didn't think you were rude! It was all change around here in October, when Mark sold the site on to me, and since then the regulars and I have been rallying round to generate interest in the site once more, as it had turned into a bit of a dustbowl. We've managed that with the Thailand forum quite nicely, but the Bali forum is still a bit quiet. So it's great to see you back and posting, thanks!

You can still PM Mark on here and he'll receive it - his username is now markaa - last I heard he was still living happily in Spain (or was it Portugal?) with his family and his collection of antique swords :-D

Default Let's get cracking...

Hey Steve,

Thanks for your note. I can see things are quiet in the forum and after I'd posted it classified me as a newbe which was crushing but true. (I don't know how many hundreds of posts I put forward inthe old forum...) I have been sick for a few years but now am back to speed and looking forward to my next trip to Bali. I will write a JBR when I get back and look forward to being able to actively contribute here so we can get this thing back up and flying!!!

C

Default Bali Moon

Is this what you were looking for?

BALI MOON

Was wonderful to talk to you too and have a lovely long chat, hope all is going extremely well for you.

Good luck with finding the perfect Ubud hotel. Sunset Hill Villas do look lovely (have I got the name right?), if I go back to your post and check the name I'll erase this message. I've made that mistake in the past.

Take care x
Catherine

Default You are amazing!!!

How did you find this!! It doesn't look too bad... What do you think? I'm just worried about being out of town so am tossing up what to do. One girlfiend is no longer coming to Ubud so I was thinking given it's only for three days, we should be closer in... I think I'll be a bit clearer with some sleep. Thank you so much for this discovery!!!! c
