We flew with Jetstar to Bali in May returning in June.
We found them to be really great and was very happy with the flight and the cabin crew. We didn't order food going out but it smelt really nice. We booked food coming home thinking it would be breakfast but we were fed one hour after take off... have to say the meal was less than average and very poor. I left mine and we got Mackers on the way home. I'd read that they crank up the air conditioning so they can sell their blankets... we didn't find this to be the case as the plane was very hot.
I'd fly with them again anyday.
Cheers Geri

Default Jetstar

Hi Gerri,

I have heard that the food is always pretty poor on Jetstar but I have been unable to find out if you can take your own food on board. Do you know if they allow this ? I have read that you can, but they won't supply utensils etc but then somewhere else I read this isn't allowed. I'm not worried about the cost of paying what I believe to be about $30 AUD, just the quality.

Regards
Michelle

We took our our food on the outward bound flight MEL-DPS and we were all given a small bottle of water. However, on the return flight from DPS-MEL we were given nothing. Honest, I'm pretty tolerant when it comes to airline food and can eat most of it without comment... but this was the worst food I have ever been served and it was absolutely dreadful
Just be mindful of if you order 'video on demand' that you book it for both ways and it's wasted on the return journey as it's a night flight. There is a drop down screen and movies shown in the cabin and ear thingys are given out free of charge which you get to keep.
When I booked online I accidentally booked the 'video on demand' don't ask me how I did it... but I did. So be careful you don't book what you don't want.
Hope this has helped.
Cheers Geri

Default jetstar airline fod

Dear Gerri,

Thanks for the reply. I think I might take my own food !! Even though I will be returning at night, I don't sleep very well on planes so I will probably watch some movies. Is it worth ordering the personal players or are just as well off watching the free ones.

Regards

Michelle

Hi Michelle
I'm a terrified flyer and so am medicated to the gills to get me near an airport... so any form of entertainment is wasted on me as I go nie nies, but my husband used the video. He reckoned nearly all the films were rubbish but he's no judge of stage and screen, there wouldn't be any Hollywood or even Bollywood if it was left up to him... we'd all be watching soccer
I can't remember but I think after the meal was served the lights went out... if your not going to sleep it might be a good idea to order a video.
Cheers Geri

Exclamation Garuda

Would just like to get on my soapbox and advise you that Garuda fail to meet International safety standards and are complicit in the murder of a human rights activist (Munir) on one of their flights; he was poisoned it is believed by the air crew and the pilot refused to land as Munir slowly died in pain.

We flew Garruda international once and would NEVER do it again. Everything about it was so bad that I wouldn't even fly with them if we won a free holiday (and that's saying something"!!!)

You were asking about Garuda Business Class. we have flown Business class to Bali on 3 or 4 seperate occasions and have found their service to be excellent. It's nice to be able to start and end your holiday in the Business Class Lounge. We have'nt flown Garuda to anywhere other than Bali. You will need to check but I think Garuda along with Qantas have cancelled their Business Class seats to Bali so that all seats are economy now.

Best of Luck.

Sue

Fly any way possible to get there! The food is not important, it is a short flight. I would be happy to stand up and hold a strap to get to Bali if it was the only affordable option. Forget the food, eat when you get there. Aduh!

Regards,

David
