Default Round trip of Lombok

We would like to hire a car and drive around Lombok staying at strategic places for sigtseeing, especially some walking in the foothills of Mt Rinjini. Can someone suggest an itinerary, together with places to stay - more upmarket than down. We have 10 days.
Thanks.

Smile Car hire in Lombok

We hired a car ourselves from a car hire place in the street at Seneggigi. The car was fine. The roads are difficult in some places, well almost impossible. it was worth it though. There really aren't any good maps either. Its probably better to hire a driver if you are set on going to particular places. We just meandered around ..........

Hi there, we have been to Lombok many times, I agree, it would be advisable to hire a car a driver for your travels around this beautiful island. We are very fortunate to have our own place over there so we know the place reasonably well. A few years a go we set a young man by the name of Trisna up in his business, we provided a car for him, a very nice 4WD Toyota Kjang, they're everywhere over there, it's very comfortable, with a spilt a/c, a must for the passengers in the rear of the car and Trisna is brilliant man, he is honest & reliable with a deep knowledge of Lombok. He also speaks English which is an added bonus. You can contact him through his office, Pt Cinta Lombok Lestari, in the main street of Senggigi by phone 0370 693843 by email, trisnaiedha@yahoo.com or on his mobile +62 81803613179. Just tell him Suzanne recomended him and he'll be sure to look after you. He'll take you wherever you want to go. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks everyone very much. Unfortunately, we're going to Nth Queensland instead, but I'll keep the information for next time.
