Wink Mmmmm, Bali Kopi (coffee)

Just to gloat I am having my first Bali (Gold of course) coffee in some time following a recent quick trip which I kept kinda quiet. Bali is really quiet right now, only managed to get photos of Kuta due to time constraints (whole trip was to meet someone) but you can check them out in the photos section if you like http://www.travelforum.org/photos/

I actually can not drink Bali coffee straight (too pungent) but ove it 50/50 with much milder Colombian. The only coffee I think beats Bali coffee for this mix is Vietnamese "Tek Lak".

It's easy NOW... back in the pioneer days (about two weeks ago)you got a lot of strange messages coming up but don't panic if this happens to you. The two messages you are most likely to get are:

1.< Bad File - No File or File is too Large or of the Wrong MIME Type> This means you still haven't managed to work out how to click on "browse" button OR your pic is too big OR that your Elvis impersonation sux and you should do an irate ghecko number instead.

2. <No Item or Item is Now in Moderation Queue - Check Back Later> This either means it's got lost a black hole in cyberspace somewhere (things tend to get lost more often when you use IE but I've managed to lose pics with firefox too) OR it means it's waiting to be OKed by his nibs . Check back in 24 hours (because nothing usually happens before then) and if there's still nothing try again and/or send Mark a nagging PM.

Oh, the orang outangs and funky monkey pics were taken in Bukkit Luang near Medan in Northern Sumatra. Cross the river here and go up the jungle on the left for a couple of hours.

You can, as you see, put pics in your posts too...click on ->images and find your pic and click on it and it will magically get put in your post. If it doesn't then you have to try again and explain why you edited.

Bali Palm Hmmm, maybe

Using Jakarta to clear immigration then Bali becomes just an internal flight. Maybe dual citizenship with two passports with two names (courtesy of grandpa being Jewish - Hebrew names are different, totally to those given to westerners). Well spotted BTW Larry, I thought no-one would question how the Bali police's number one enemy (really - that is their take on it, not mine) would even go to Bali, let alone go with impunity. MMM, Bali Gold again this morning (mixed with Columbian of course).

I was wondering how you did it too.....but decided not to ask..you're a brave soul, I'm glad it worked out well for you.

I do have some photos I can upload, and am getting ready to go again, I have no idea how to do it, but I will check it out soon and give it a try!!

Bali Palm The thing to remember

is that the Indonesian and Balinese police are mutts in every sense and can do nothing for themselves (except their wallets) plus get little co-operation from people like immigration, who are also mutts. You look at every major terror cell or drugs bust and it came / was lead by Australian Federal police either passing information to them or actually operating inside Indonesia, or the busts were mishandled and highly contentious (Schapelle Corby for one, drugs cases where it seems drugs were planted on them by the police in others). I was actually hoping to have enough time to go and take a picture of Jack Daniels Bali Discovery Tours going for lunch and of the police HQ, but did not. Maybe next time if I don't have Daniels in jail by then
