Have just returned from a two month trip to Europe via Thailand (two weeks on way over, and 5 days Bangkok on return). We used to visit Europe regularly, but this time five years have passed, and the Euro has been around for three. Spent time in Germany, Austria and did a River Cruise from Budapest to Bucharest. Bali is still our favourite destination, and after Europe it is incredibly inexpensive, with the hotels giving top rate service for a fraction of the price of one in Europe. Have read that Garuda is going to stop using Bali as a hub, and will not be flying from NZ or Brisbane. Also that flights from Australia will be via Jakarta.
Is this the case? If so, lets hope that some other airlines will take up the slack..... or does it mean that Qantas (Australian Airlines) will increase their fares?
