I have stayed at Tamu Seseh and Ahimsa. I like Tamu Seseh more because there's a lot more space and privacy though we did drive our own car. I think if you get a regular taxi you would be looking at 50,000 rph one way to get to where you need to go. Just get the villa manager to phone a taxi for you. Coming home will not be a problem as everyone will want your fare and you should always travel on the meter.
Ahimsa was a bit sterile but nice. Pool was a little cold and had no fence so you need to be careful about this with young kids. You will face this at most villas. My friends had never been to Bali before and were thrilled with Ahimsa, though I thought the staff were cool and kept well away from us. Was a good location though and very modern. Beds very comfortable. It might be worth enquiring about a 2brm?
In each instance we dealt directly with the villa managers - I think for Ahimsa it was Serene Villas who are a little difficult to deal with, and for Tamu Seseh we dealt directly with Tamu Group.
The only exception for the pool is villa Wilsana which is well located and has a temporary pool fence that can be put up for you. This villa is centrally located and you can walk to quite a few restaurants. it comes with a car and driver and also there is a few hours baby sitting each day included in the fee.
Let me know if you need more info or other suggestions.
