Regional air fares in Australia are so high, that if, for instance I took up the offer from Perth, by the time I pay Perth - Darwin return, then add the Darwin - Denpasar tax component, I am paying well over "normal" Perth - DPS fare, aside from the inconvenience of linking flights, possible interim accomodation etc.
I don't know how many forumites are in Darwin, that could actually benefit.
The "situation" in Bali does not stop people from snapping up bargain offers.
This was evidenced, when after the last incident Garuda offered some free fares (200 I think?), either by way of ballot or whatever, and they were inundated with applications.
Its a great opportunity, but why do these things only come up when you can't take some advantage of them??
If anyone has a similar opportunity for travel from somewhere south of the 26th parrallel, let me know and watch out for the rush.
