positives among all the negatives about Bali (Or probably more correctly, Kuta / Legian).
I am sure that a large part of the recovery process will come through "alternate" travellers, I.E. those that see attractions beyond the bars and nightclubs of southern Bali.
It is a shame that there is not a more balanced journalistic view on Bali, it seems that journos recognise the fascination with the place, but also recognise that bad news sells better than good news.
(I doubt that anyone will report the lack of impact of anti porn laws on Bali, but were quick to speculate on "what if" effects")
Although I am firm in my convictions (in case anyone hasn't noticed!), it is still great to hear these positive reports from other returning travellers.
The recommendations listed are also most welcomed. When surrounded with so much choice, it is good to have some guidance from others, and helps in compiling those "to do" lists that make the planning process an integral part of the trip.
Congrats on taking the goodies North - we have done the same.
I can recall reading a post on the rubbish tip "village" in Sanur, some fairly harrowing stuff. Maybe there is a need for some support closer to the main centres that we don't openly see.
However, wherever the goods go, I know they are greatly appreciated.
Thanks for brightening my day.
