Have you read Shantaram? Great story and wonderfully written. The truth may have been embellished somewhat, but who cares, still an excellent read and a great holiday book.
Other books I've read and enjoyed lately are "A Fine Balance", "The Kite Runner", "Life of Phi" & "Treasure Islands" by Pamela Stevenson to name a few and my husband enjoyed 'Fat, Forty and Fired" by Nigel Marsh.
If you've got any recommendations I'm always looking for a good book.
