Recently got back, ate at Jimbaran Beach twice. The first time there were what looked like police officers around, but they seemed only to be watching the security guards (local guys, not in uniform). Where we drove in to the car park they checked us out a bit but when we drove out the other part there was no-one around. We just took a table away from others which was not that hard as the place was really quiet and watched carefully for anyone but the waiter coming over to our table. I have to say it does make it hard to relax like you would want to. We had a good time in the end but even the Bintang did not stop us from doing the periodic scan around of course. We justified it by our thinking that they would hit somewhere else next and that it is more dangerous to drive a car in Bali then it is to eat out. This seems to be everyone's conversation, where will they target next. The businesses and police need to do more for sure, but what can they do? How do you stop someone who is happy to blow themselves up along with others? It is a shame, you can not relax like you could before. Things have changed / are different this time. They need to make secure areas but where is the holiday in that?
