Calling the Australian Consumers Association - look under Choice Magazine also as it's the same number. I have always found them very helpful in explaning my rights as it relates to the trade practices act - its good going into battle with "I have been advised that you are in breach of Section X of the Trade Practices Act."
Failing that I would contact either A Current Affair or Today Tonight - there are mechanisms that you can use on both their websites to log your situation. Believe me they are always VERY interested when large companies try and shaft the little guy. Give it a go.
