I don't think Lovina is it for you bilgud. I think you would be disappointed with the beach, and Lovina is so small, and without the money for a car and / or driver I think it would be even possible to be bored (if that's possible in Bali!)
I would go for Ubud, or the outskirts, depends how far you can walk, Pemuteran is also good if you like beach, but again a bit cut off. The speaking of English is fairly universal in Ubud, also the prices may be a little higher than the north, but getting hold of beer, wine and spirits is easier than the Moslem north, you can therefore have a few bevvys in your room without the aid of anything expensive like room-service.
Pemuteran is great for snorkelling, Ubud, has fantastic walks, long or short, hire of bycles is easier, etc. etc., if you sant any more help don't hesitate to ask.
