Hi Folks!
Well, it's time for the fourth visit! Flights are booked and we are all really excited.
As usual we'll be stopping at the haven that is Pondok Ayu in Sanur for the first few nights to shake off the jetlag following the long flight from London! Then it's off to Agung Bali Nirwana, we fell in love with the place last time and it's been far too long! We're there for 5 nights doing not a lot! Perfect!
Then it will be down (or up depending on how you look at it!) to Ubud, we've not actually stayed in Ubud before but just visited so we're looking forward to exploring! We're staying in Villa Vajra and it looks like an absolute steal! I found it on this site's sister site, the only resource I use really. It looks more like some film star's pad rather than a holiday property and when two couples are going it works out silly cheap! We pay £100 per night for a rubbish little room here in the UK, for a similar amount per couple we get a mansion on the edge of a gorge with piped music throughout! You've gotta love Bali!
I do have one question though! The villa management company are 'strongly recommending' we hire a car and driver for the duration of the stay. Well one, we won't be off exploring the island everyday as we've done that many times now and we're paying $420 per night to enjoy the villa too! And two, surely we can just ask the villa staff to call us a Bali Blue? The management company are suggesting that the taxis will not find the villa but I find this hard to believe, it's in the village of Sebali and only ten mins from Ubud. Three, surely we can get the villa staff to arrange the occasional drop off in Ubud? We can direct a taxi back again. The management company want $55 per day for a Kijang and driver, again cheap by UK standards but we don't need one all day! Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Even better, has anyone stayed at Villa Vajra?
We're there for two weeks in April and really cannot wait!
Cheers as always
Robbie
