Hi, I've just come back and stayed 2 nights at the Puri Bagus Lovina. It is a lovely place, beautiful gardens with fish ponds, great pool, right on the ocean for watching the sunset and calm sea for swimming. The garden bungalow we had was very big, clean and comfortable with outdoor shower. However it is miles from the centre of Lovina - no good if you like to just walk down the road for a drink or something to eat - and we found that a bit annoying. If you did stay, you could ask Made at the Bagus Shop (just outside the hotel) to drop you and pick you up, as he's cheaper than the hotel taxi. Whichever hotel you choose, definately go to Lovina. It is quieter and cheaper than the south, and the few hawkers we came across aren't as aggresive as everyone makes out. Anyway, what's a dollar to us if that's all you pay for a sarong (or whatever). A fisherman took me out snorkelling and it was really good - lots of different fish. We ate at Kubu Lalang, great service and wide choice of lovely food - it also had a few bungalows and looked like a cool place to stay (although it's also quite isolated), and Jasmine Kitchen (Thai), again great service and lovely food.
