I have just returned from a two lazy weeks in the Yasawa Islands. It was interesting to hear the impressions and comments on Bali. Telling people that we did business in Bali for a living inspired a number of comments. It seems that most people firmly believe that Schapelle Corby is innocent and supported their belief with the denials and arguments put forward by the Corby family. I found it interesting that when I said that I felt she was guilty that I was bombarded with all the reasons why she is innocent. None of these people have particular knowledge of Bali and most have never been there.

One person went on and on about the reasons that he wouldn't go back to Bali and all the things that were bad about it. As it turns out he had been to Bali twice, the last time being in 1985. Never once did he ask me about my experience with Bali, which I found quite interesting - didn't want to know but did speak at length as an authority. We all know that Bali has it's problems however I found the encounter quite fascinating. If I'd cared enough (about his opinion) I suppose I could have taken offence and got into a debate but figured that when someone is blowing a lot of hot air it's easier to let them get it over with and let them have their moment of glory.
