I have just arrived back from two weeks in Kauai - a beautiful island, but not like Bali - We went there to meet up with our son and his family who live in Maryland - half way for us all. He did not want to join us in Bali in June ( their loss) We would by far prefer Bali .... this trip to Hawaii just confirmed in our minds how lucky we are to be relatively close to such a gorgeous island. Thailand is also a wonderful place to visit - give us the East any day, not only is it much more affordable, there is a wonderful culture in both places, and is much more exciting. One question David, your stay in Gerebig, Penestanan, sounds interesting but is there a pool there? We like to be in quiet places, but find that with the heat a pool is a necessity.
