Is this the road known affectionately as the "Suicide Road"? -along the coast heading to and from the ferry to Java at Gilimanuk. The incident with the truck brings back memories. Once on my way to Java along this road we had two trucks coming towards us having a race, side by side, there was no road left for us. We pulled off the road and managed to stop just before a ravine. The rest of the trip to Jogja was a nail biting journey with trucks being the main culprits. Previously I did it by bus and NEVER AGAIN! That was 14 hours of terror.
