Yes dolphins @ sunrise in lovina book through a local down by the beach don't go through the hotel maybe find out the price to expect at the hotel and try and bargain lower with the locals! I too have heard that the best place is menjangan island north west of bali not to far from Lovina for snorkelling it's a short boat ride haven't been myself but hope to this time. Waka Shorea is the closest hotel to the island maybe check out indonesia.sawadeee site thay have maps. otherwise you could go to lombok or lembongan island.
Not many turtles I think turtle island off the shore of sanur is just a sad place to go have heard that they have a turtle farm but they don't look after they turtle very well. I guess you may see some up north when snorkelling.
I think if you have room and your own snorkelling gear take it with you as better to be comfortable and your own stuff is always more comfortable than the cheap stuff that they may have that mightn't fit properly. Have fun enjoy your trip.
