I am trialing new forum, blog, gallery and calendar software on a new site called Travlurs. It is not finished yet, but the Indonesian etc. forums are. I just have to add more countries / forums and improve the calendar section (to allow private and public entries, so members can choose whether a calendar event they enter is seen just by them, or shown to others, such as an event).
The site is for Independent travelers (back packers and others that do not buy from a brochure) and expats, as opposed to regular tourists. I have threatened to release an expat forum for some time, but decided just an expat forum was a waste. I realized that expats and independent travelers had much in common, and both much less in common with brochure tourists. I also noticed expat forums generally don’t allow advertisements, so mine do! And finally, I realized travelers were bloging and using image galleries a lot, so why not bring all of these together under one site?
Please take a look, as this software / forum is likely to replace the scripts / forum style I use here in due course if I am right. I will always keep travelforum dot org, but I think it is long due an overhaul.
Please take a look at Travlurs, I would be grateful to know what you think. Please note you need to register to do and view certain things.
