It's more useful to bring a supply of timed release DEET ointment than antimalarial drugs. Dengue fever is also a risk, and the only prevention is to avoid getting bitten. Mosquito coils can be helpful, although these can be a bit rough on the respiratory system. If you use them, get a proper holder for burning mosquito coils. The clips that come packaged with them are usually pretty worthless.
It may help to pretreat your clothing with permethrin.
