Hi Mintey - this was our second visit to Permuteran, on our visit last year we stayed at Silini which is one of the three resorts further along from the Aneka Bagus. Was not happy with the room we were assigned the first night - there was no privacy, and the area with the wardrobe and bathroom was very dark - also the lights were very dim. We moved to another unit behind the spa, which was much better. The pool area is very attractive - right on the beach - with the restaurant near by. The food was ok - not marvellous. Now the disadvantages - The beach is very stony - not as good as the beach at Silini - and is difficult to get into the sea unless you wear sea booties. There was very little information from the staff as to what was available regarding trips etc. - in fact they were not helpful at all; we had to arrange our own transport - just as well I had a cell phone. There were very few other options with regarde to meals - only the Matahari is nearby and that is a walk on the rather rough beach or on the busy road. Guest staying at the Aneka Bagus went down to the other resorts for snorkelling - a twenty five minute walk, and also for spa treatments which were much cheaper there. My own preference would be for one of the other resorts, where at least you have some choice. If you are into snorkelling, then Menjangen Island is just wonderful; I noticed that there was a new hotel situated by the small harbour which would be very handy. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask me.
