Hello--
New to this forum here, and I noticed all the talk of Tegal Sari, where my wife and I stayed a couple weeks ago. I can confirm that the new construction is not terribly intrusive (and should be wrapping up by now), and the rice fields are completely intact.
I *highly* recommend the restaurant in front of TS on JL Raya Pengosekan, Warung Enak. Though not a true warung, they have a great menu featuring Balinese and Indonesian dishes, a good wine list, great deserts (try the pineapple chili lime sorbet), friendly staff, and pick-up service throughout the Ubud area. We ate there five times during our three week stay on the island. Tell them Mr Chris and Mrs Mary sent you. :)
