this is still about people saying Corby is guilty or innocent. It never ends. The point I make is that the evidence was compromised by the Balinese customs and police officers (many of them handled it and destroyed the finger print evidence), and therefore the case against her should have been thrown out. Plus there seems to have been a clear presumption of guilt against her by the judiciary before the trial itself, which reverses her legal right to a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
I do not want to get drawn into an evidence / conjecture session about whether she is guilty or not and the other facts of the case, as I do not really care. For me it is a matter of proper legal process to protect any accused person. But, if it is true the Balinese customs did not mark her bags with an "x", that would indicate they had already opened her bag and examined the contents. Now, unless there was a tip off from the Australian Authorities (and I understand this was not the case as the originating airport had provided a written statement that Corby's bag had been checked for drugs, along with everyone else’s when she checked in, and none were detected). I find it remarkable that this could have happened without her being present. Maybe they did not open the bag but watched it carefully, but I do not think the process would allow for this time wise without delaying the bag onto the belt and therefore raising the suspicions of a guilty person. So whether the bag was suspected along with other bags and marked with an "x", or whether it was delayed in the process, to me it is the same and the point mute.
People point scoring over details like this makes no odds anyway. It seems to just be for self-justification purposes for believing whether Corby is guilty or not. I have always said I think statistically she is likely to be guilty. My problem is that there is a reasonable chance she is innocent and she was denied justice. So she is legally innocent, despite the judgement.
