I am confident any established and professional judiciary would have ruled the case void once it became known the various customs and police officers had handled the drugs / baggage and destroyed any fingerprint evidence that existed. I KNOW it would have been thrown out of the UK / EU courts if it had ever made them, and can only presume the same would apply to the Australian courts as well. Truthfully, I do not believe the prosecution service / police in the UK would even have brought the case on this basis. I also believe she was tried before the trial, in that the judge was talking about providing evidence to prove her innocence, rather than proof to show her guilt.
So, for me, it is not about guilt or innocence. It is about a fair, just and professional investigation & trial.
