Which I think will also make Bali a better place to visit. The Indonesian Government is, according to the Indonesian Embassy in London's web site, about to sign up to the International Convention on Human Rights, at long last / after years of dodging this. This would make the Indonesian Authorities ultimately answerable to the UN Court of Human Rights. Many may have heard stories but been blind to what has gone on in Aceh, Timor and elsewhere, including Bali. Although this is not a magic wand to remove human rights violations overnight (as people still have to file the cases, and may well be under much more difficult conditions then they would like, if they still live or have relatives in Indonesia), it is a step to making the authorities answerable and hopefully a better government.

For myself, personally, it is wonderful news. As my lawyers in London have already confirmed, given the official death "threat" made against me by the Balinese police and other factors, I have a claim if I can not obtain justice within the Indonesian judiciary. Up to any such ratification, all I could do was ask my own government to take issue with the Indonesian government. Now it will be a whole new ball game which will almost certainly change the way my legal actions are responded to. Many of you know I am after Jack Daniels (Bali Discovery Tours) and certain police officers in Bali. Plus am suing jack Daniels in the USA for libel. To try and have Mr. Daniels jailed for falsifying evidence, filing false & malicious police complaints, perjury, subversion and collusion / corruption in Bali. Now I have new hope that justice will prevail not just for me, but for many others whose afflicted lives the everyday tourist does not get to see, and which is too often the sad unspoken reality of life behind the smiles in Bali.

PS I have updated my Bali Discovery Tours website with new evidence against the present and former police chiefs of Bali. Happy reading Jack, Budi, Lijaya, Boy and Made ;-). I am now sure this will soon enough be your tale to answer in court.
